World Championship Final Rematch

In a much-anticipated showdown, Luke Littler is gearing up to face Luke Humphries on the opening night of the 2024 Premier League Darts, marking their first encounter since the thrilling PDC World Darts Championship final at Alexandra Palace.

The riveting final earlier this month saw Humphries secure a 7-4 victory over the teenage darts sensation, clinching his inaugural world title. Now, the two players are set to renew their rivalry in Cardiff on Thursday, February 1, as the fixtures for the Premier League have been officially announced.

Debutants in the Spotlight

Both Littler and Humphries are making their debuts in the prestigious tournament, joining the ranks of notable players such as seven-time winner Michael van Gerwen. The eight-player field promises intense competition, with the potential for the winner to earn a substantial prize of over £275,000 from the £1 million tournament.

The Premier League Rundown

The Premier League Darts will be staged in various cities across six different countries, including England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Germany, Holland, and Ireland. The opening night in Wales will feature other exciting matchups, including Peter Wright versus Rob Cross, Gerwyn Price against Nathan Aspinall, and Michael van Gerwen facing off against Michael Smith.

The tournament format includes 16 mini-events, with each league night comprising quarterfinals, semi-finals, and a final over the best of 11 legs. The climactic playoff, scheduled for Thursday, May 23, at the O2 Arena in London, will involve the top four players in the table.

Littler’s Recent Triumphs and Nine-Dart Display

Fresh off his first pro title win at the Bahrain Darts Masters, where he defeated Michael van Gerwen in the final, the 17-year-old darts prodigy Luke Littler is riding high on confidence. Notably, Littler showcased his exceptional skills by hitting a nine-darter during his quarter-final victory over Nathan Aspinall.
