From debut to legend, the journey of the greatest player in IPL history has been filled with dashing displays at the death. Dhoni has delivered stunning performances for India and Chennai throughout his star-studded career.

He is cricket's master finisher. The keeper-batsman has scored the most runs in the death overs during the tournament's 17-season history.

The legendary cricketer is amongst the few Indian cricketers to have scored 5000-plus runs in 257 IPL matches.

The former CSK captain has scored more than 700 runs in the last over in IPL matches and hit 247 sixes, the fourth-most in the competition.

Top 10 Players Who Hit the Most Sixes in the 20th Over in IPL History? 

1. Mahendra Singh Dhoni

MS Dhoni tops the list of most sixes in the 20th over in IPL history, walloping more than 50 sixes in his career.

The former CSK skipper has dispatched a record 65 maximums at the death.

2. Kieron Pollard 

Pollard trails Dhoni by almost half the number of sixes, with 33 sixes in the final over of an innings.

The West Indies all-rounder is only the second IPL player to reach 30 sixes in the last six balls of an innings.

3. Ravindra Jadeja 

Jadeja is another Chennai Super Kings superstar near the top of the 'big hitters' list.

He is the only player to hit six sixes in the final over, which is the most runs in the 20th over in the competition (36).

Jadeja famously won the Super Kings their fifth IPL title in 2023 after an extraordinary final over of death-hitting.

The all-rounder has hit 29 sixes in the 20th over in IPL games.

4. Hardik Pandya

Pandya is at number four. The Mumbai Indians (MI) captain is close behind Jadeja, with 28 sixes in the final over.

5. Rohit Sharma

Sharma is another Mumbai Indians big-hitter in the top five. He has whacked 23 sixes in the final six balls of an innings during IPL matches.

6. Dinesh Karthik

Another wicket-keeper-batsman lands in the top 10 batsmen with the most sixes in the last over of an IPL innings.

Karthik (20) is one of only six cricketers to hit 20+ sixes in the last over of an Indian Premier League match.

7. AB de Villiers

"Mr 360" had to be in the top 10 list of death overs destroyers. De Villiers is second only to Dhoni for records in the IPL as a batter.

The South African has hit 19 maximums during the last six balls of an innings in the IPL.

8. Andre Russell and David Miller

Big hitters Russell and Miller are famous for their deadly finishing in limited-overs cricket, not only in franchise cricket but internationally.

The West Indies and South African master blasters have smoked 18 sixes in the last over of the IPL.

9. Dwayne Bravo

Bravo is the third West Indies player in the top 10 list. He has launched 15 sixes out of the ground during the final over of an IPL game.
