Brazilian giants Santos are hugely interested in Ghanaian teenager John Andor, with the 15-year-old speedster's potential move to the Santos academy hinging on his performance during a 2-month trial with the club.

As a CAF U-15 star, Andor shares his thoughts on the upcoming trial with the three-time Copa Libertadores champions and his readiness to seize the opportunity with the Santos-based club.

Andor's rise to fame began with the recent African Schools Football Championship in Ghana, where his impressive performances caught the eye of many African youth football enthusiasts. Although his team, the host country Ghana, settled for bronze, Andor's individual brilliance shone through as he was named joint-top scorer alongside his fellow countryman Ignatius Cyril Acquah Hagan.

His speed, agility, and flair upfront posed a significant threat to opposing teams. Representing Third World FC, one of Stari World's top football academies in Africa, the championship provided valuable exposure, pitting him against seven different countries in his age category.

"It was a great experience, playing in front of our huge fans taught me a lot," Andor told SportsBoom.com.

"Hoping to relive this moment again with other national teams." Although, Santos FC had already scouted the youngster before the tournament, and his performance only further intensified the Brazilian club's interest.

ANDOR'S BIG BREAK

A typical team routine morning meeting took an exciting turn under the cloudy sky, with a light drizzle failing to dampen the mood.

Andor's name was mentioned twice, earning applause from the technical team as they shared significant news. The departure from the usual routine sparked curiosity among Andor and his colleagues.

For Andor, the news brought immense joy. With a long-held dream of becoming a professional, this trial opportunity seemed like a golden key.

"We were all taken aback, wondering what the issue was. For a few seconds, I thought I'd done something wrong," he recalled with a smile.

"I just want to thank God for this opportunity, my coaches at Third World FC, and my colleagues. I'm very ready to make the most of it, knowing opportunities like this come once."

Andor played a pivotal role in Ghana's victory at the Mondialito Promise tournament in Israel earlier this year, cementing his rising star status in Ghanaian football.

The Third World FC technical team has witnessed Andor's tremendous growth since he was scouted. They see this trial as a significant chance for the young star to live his dreams.

THE DREAM TRIAL

Being linked to the iconic Santos academy, "The Factory of Kings," is a huge prestige for young players like John Andor. With a legacy of producing Brazilian legends like Pelé, Neymar, and Rodrygo, the academy is a globally respected talent hub.

"Since I was informed about the trial with Santos academy, I've been reading a lot about them," Andor said. "I love it already – the list of players who've come through their system is impressive. Pelé, Robinho, Neymar, and Rodrygo... I'm determined not to return home when I arrive in Brazil."

SportsBoom.com can exclusively confirm that the Ghanaian teen sensation is expected to arrive in the city of Santos before the end of May 2025 to begin his two-month trial with Vila Belmiro outfit.
