    In a thrilling quarterfinal clash at the 2024 World Snooker Championship, Kyren Wilson showcased his break-building prowess to take an early lead against seasoned veteran John Higgins. Wilson surged ahead with breaks of 70, 71, 93, and 95, establishing a commanding 4-0 lead in the first session. Despite Higgins clawing back with two impressive century breaks of 102 and 129, he concluded the session trailing 5-3.

Notably, the opening frame lasted nearly 50 minutes, with Higgins demonstrating his resilience by clinching it amidst a lengthy safety exchange on the brown. As the session concluded, the score stood at 9-7 in Wilson's favour, setting the stage for a gripping finale.

    With tension mounting, the third and final session commenced with both players refusing to yield. The initial frames were evenly split, but Wilson seized control with consecutive breaks of 56 and 101, edging closer to victory. Despite Higgins' tenacity, Wilson's momentum proved insurmountable. In the 21st frame, Wilson sealed the deal with a composed break of 63, securing his spot in the competition's semi-finals, winning the encounter 13-8. 

    Impending Clash with Gilbert

    With his victory over Higgins, Kyren Wilson advances to face David Gilbert in the semi-finals. Gilbert, who reached his second ever Crucible semi-final, awaits Wilson in what promises to be another captivating showdown at the pinnacle of snooker excellence.
