Exclusive: Samuel Chukwueze Labels AC Milan's Season a 'Disaster' and Vows to Fight On
Nigeria's Samuel Chukwueze criticizes AC Milan's disappointing 2024-25 season due to managerial changes. Despite transfer rumors, he is determined to stay and succeed in Serie A, inspired by the club's history. Chukwueze aims to make his mark and contribute to Milan's success in the future.

Samuel Chukwueze has shared his thoughts on AC Milan’s tough 2024-25 season, calling it a 'disastrous' campaign for the club.
Massimiliano Allegri’s team had a tough season, finishing eighth in Serie A and missing out on Europe.
They also lost early in the Champions League and finished second in the Coppa Italia. Their only win was the Supercoppa Italiana, where they overturned a two-goal deficit to beat Inter.
In his opinion, the 26-year-old says the Rossoneri’s performance is unacceptable by any standard, given the club’s history in European football.
Chukwueze told SportsBoom.com in an exclusive interview: "I think it's not something anybody would want to accept. It's a bad season."
"Although we won the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, I think it didn't mean enough because we missed out on so many things."
"We are not playing in the Champions League next season, we lost the Scudetto and also the Coppa Italia."
"So, there are so many things that we have to work hard next season to fight for. I think [2024/2025] season was disastrous for us."
HOW AC MILAN MISSED THE MARK
Chukwueze reveals that the key challenge for the seven-time European champions wasn’t just the difficulties faced, but the managerial change that brought altered tactics and playing style, making rapid adaptation difficult.
"I don’t believe the main issue was just having challenges, but rather how the changes happened," he continued.
"Starting the season with one manager and completing pre-season under him, then switching manager midway was quite difficult."
"When a new manager arrived, everything changed from tactics, formations, and playing style. The players were eager and hungry, but adapting quickly to new ideas and systems wasn’t easy."
"This affected our performance, costing us a spot in the Champions League. Football doesn’t always go as planned, and sometimes the game doesn’t flow the way you want."
"In those moments, the key is to fight for every ball and put in your best effort individually and as a team."
"Success comes from determination and hard work, even when things don’t go your way. You have to keep pushing, making everything work on your own and together with your teammates."
CHUKWUEZE EAGER TO MAKE HIS MARK AT MILAN
After five years at Villarreal, the African winger signed a five-year deal with the Italian giants, keeping him in Milan until June 30, 2028.
With three years left on his contract, Chukwueze has been linked to the Premier League and La Liga but is determined to stay and make his mark at AC Milan, describing playing for the club as a morale boost rather than a source of pressure.
"Playing for AC Milan doesn’t just bring pleasure, it gives me confidence," Chukwueze added.
"Representing one of the biggest clubs in the world is both a privilege and an honour. Milan’s rich history, filled with countless titles and legendary players, motivates me every day."
"Knowing that greats like Kaka have worn this jersey inspires me to prove myself. I want to show why I belong here and why I’m fighting to succeed."
"Being part of this club pushes me to work harder and stay focused. My goal is to make a lasting name for myself at San Siro and contribute to the club’s continued success. I’m committed to this journey and excited for what lies ahead."
When asked how his role evolved from Spain to Italy, he stated: "I think it's a different league with a different style of football."
"Serie A is more strong-minded league, and they play a unique type of football. If you're in Italy, you have to adapt to Italian football. It’s very different from La Liga and depends a lot on your mindset."
