Blackburn Rovers wing-wizard Tyrhys Dolan is wanted by Championship rivals West Brom and Norwich City on a free transfer, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
Dolan has been offered a new contract to stay at Ewood Park but has stalled on signing a new deal with interest from the Bagges and Canaries, two teams who are gunning for promotion next season to the Premier League.
The former Manchester City ace enjoyed his best season for Rovers last term with seven goals and six assists as Rovers frustratingly missed out on the play-offs by two points.
However, the sought-after 23-year-old has delayed deciding on his future until this summer.
And now that the transfer window has reopened the former Preston North End man is ready to look at his options of finding new club.
Ex-England Under-20 international Dolan has enjoyed five seasons with Rovers in the second tier, but the club have failed to win promotion back to the top-flight.
Our sources have learnt the attacking-minded player, who has played 211 times for the Lancashire club, is ready for a new challenge.
He became the second youngest player in the club’s history to reach the 200-games milestone last season.
WRITING ON THE WALL
Dolan joined Rovers in June 2021 on a two-year deal after being released by the Lilywhites – and he quickly became a fans’ favourite at Ewood Park.
But the writing has been on the wall for a long time for Dolan to leave.
In April, Rovers’ Head of Football Operations Rudy Gestede admitted the club would have a tough job keeping the player.
“He (Dolan) will attract attention from other clubs," Gestede told The Lancashire Telegraph.
"I cannot lie. There will be clubs that are going to come at him. So it will be a discussion with Tyrhys if it's not ongoing already, and we'll assess it in the summer."
“Does he want to take his chance to be out of contract and go somewhere else?"
“There is something that we can provide as a club, but there are also some different parameters and conditions that we cannot offer.”
