Bournemouth are ready to table a bid for West Ham defender Vladimír Coufal, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
But the Cherries face a battle with Everton for the Czech international full-back’s services.
Coufal has also been linked with Everton, Fulham and promoted Leeds United, but the Cherries are hopeful they can tempt the sought-after right-back to the Vitality Stadium.
Andoni Iraola’s finished an impressive ninth place in the Premier League last season, only narrowly missing out on a coveted European place.
And with wanted left-back Milos Kerkez potentially leaving the club this summer, with interest growing in the player’s signature, the Cherries are understandably looking to strengthen in defence.
Coufal, 32, was a key player for a Hammers’ side which finished 14th in the standing, has bags of Premier League and international experience.
Capped 55 times by his country, he has enjoyed five seasons with the Hammers in the top-flight.
In all he has played 180 games for the East London outfit, but his current deal is set to expire at the end of the month.
SURPLUS TO REQUIREMENTS
And after the Hammers revealed their retained and released list, which saw Coufal surplus to requirements at the London Stadium, he was immediately linked with former Hammers boss David Moyes.
Moyes, now at Everton, signed Coufal from Czech side Slavia Prague in his second spell in charge of West Ham.
He has long been an admirer of the consistent defender, but SportsBoom understands Moyes is looking for a young demographic to try and take the Toffees forward after a 13th place finish last term.
Coufal enjoyed plenty of success at West Ham, including winning the UEFA Conference League title with the Scot in 2023.
The Hammers have released five big names this summer with Coufal joined by Aaron Cresswell, Lukasz Fabianski, Kurt Zouma and Danny Ings in heading through the exit door.
