Bournemouth and Brentford are keen on snapping up Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon on a free transfer, SportsBoom can reveal.
But the Cherries and Bees look set to face stiff competition from Nottingham Forest and Brighton for the 28-year-old’s signature.
Spaniard Regilon is out of contract at the end of this month and is especially wanted by the Cherries following the imminent £45million departure of current left-back Milos Kerkez to Premier League champions Liverpool.
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is desperate to find a replacement for Hungarian international Kerkez as quick as possible.
And SportsBoom understands Iraola is a fond admirer of Reguilon, who won the Europa League crown with Spurs at the end of last season.
French outfit Monaco have been linked with the former Spain international, capped six times by his country, and who won the FIFA Club World Cup with former club Real Madrid in 2018.
TITLE-WINNER
He also won the Europa League with Sevilla in the 2019-20 season and was a UEFA Nations League runner-up with his country in 2021 and an EFL Cup runner-up with Spurs in the same season.
But Reguilon, who has played five seasons in the Premier League, is happy to stay in the league if he can find a new club.
The Madrid-born defender played nine games on loan at Manchester United in the 2023-24 season and then 16 games on loan with Brentford during the 2023-24 season.
But last season he played just four league games for Spurs – and six the whole season – as the club were willing to let his contract run down before being released this summer.
The six-cap former Spain international has bag of experience at the top level and that’s why both Bournemouth and Brentford have now joined the race to see if they can sign him in a bargain deal.
