Raheem Sterling is open to leaving the country after a personal trauma, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The winger is part of the Blues’ famous “bomb squad” of stars who are sitting on big wages without playing for the West London club.
Chelsea have tried to force Sterling out in recent transfer windows and he has been training alone in recent months.
It is understood that Sterling has previously been happy to sit on his £300,000-a-week contract until it runs out in the summer of 2027.
But sources close to the player have revealed recent events have given him food for thought and he is now considering a move abroad for the safety of his family.
Sterling revealed burglars broke into his Berkshire pad last month whilst he and his family were in the house.
Thankfully they were not harmed, but the incident is said to have shaken Sterling, who has now been targeted three times by burglars.
Saudi Arabia Pro League clubs have chased Sterling in recent windows and it is understood the former England star's representatives are open to offers from all around the world.
SportsBoom reports previously linked Crystal Palace and Leeds with a January swoop for Sterling, but those suggestions have since gone quiet.
Wrexham's Hollywood owner Ryan Reynolds has been touted with making the most audacious signing of his tenure at Welsh club by trying to lure the 30-year-old to the Championship.
Big Club Merry-Go-Round
Sterling joined the Queens Park Rangers’ youth set up at the age of nine and moved to Liverpool for an initial £450,000 at 15.
During his time at Anfield, he scored 18 goals in 95 Premier League games before moving to Manchester City for £44million, making his the most expensive English player in history at the time, after turning down a £100,000-a-week extension at Liverpool.
During a seven-year stint, where he scored 131 goals in 339 games, at the Etihad Sterling won four Premier Leagues, five League Cups and a FA Cup before moving to Chelsea, where he has been out of favour since 2024, spending last season on loan at Arsenal.
