Exclusive: Chelsea Ready to Boost Cole Palmer’s Contract Amid Manchester United Rumours

Chelsea is ready to offer Cole Palmer a pay rise to squash rumors of a move to Manchester United. Despite being under contract until 2033, Chelsea is considering increasing his £6m salary to reflect his true value. Palmer's future has been subject to intense speculation, but Chelsea is keen to keep the talented midfielder. This comes as Palmer approaches his 50th goal for Chelsea and recovers from injuries.

Chelsea are prepared to offer Cole Palmer an improved contract in an effort to quash rumours he wants to return to the North-West, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

Despite being under contract until 2033, the former Manchester City youngster’s future has been the subject of huge speculation in recent weeks after it was reported Manchester United, the club he supported as a child, view him as a summer transfer target.

Although senior figures at Stamford Bridge privately have no intention of cashing-in on a player who is regarded as a generational talent, our sources in west London have indicated they could consider improving his estimated annual £6m salary to put a stop to the rumour mill once and for all.

Both Liam Rosenior, who earlier this month succeeded Enzo Maresca at The Blues’ head coach, and captain Reece James have denied Palmer is unsettled ahead of this weekend’s clash with West Ham

But the constant claim-and-counter claim is known to be a source of intense irritation behind the scenes and, given the attacking midfielder’s tender age, could also present a distraction as he looks to recover fully from the injuries which have plagued him since helping Chelsea become World Club champions under Maresca last summer.

FLURRY OF INTEREST

If The Blues do take action to stem the flurry of stories which are continuing to appear in the media, they are also said to be considering extending Palmer’s agreement by at least another 12 months should his representatives acquiesce.

However, the focus would be on upping his weekly wage in order to reflect his true value rather than the bargain £42.5m Chelsea negotiated with City in 2023.

Used sparingly by Rosenior in recent weeks - a deliberate ploy to prevent his fitness issues flaring up again - Palmer nevertheless set-up both of Joao Pedro’s goals during Tuesday’s 3-2 Champions League victory in Naples which secured his employer’s passage into the knockout stages of the competition.

Palmer is also approaching his 50th goal for The Blues, having made a little over 110 appearances for them following his switch from the Etihad Stadium.
