Manchester United are hoping to get Archie Gray on the cheap if Tottenham Hotspur get relegated, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

As revealed by SportsBoom earlier this month, Gray has pledged to stay at the club even if they get relegated to the Championship after a shocking season.

But our sources understand United will still test Spurs’ resolve over the promising prospect, who moved to the club from Leeds United in 2024.

Relegation would reportedly cost the club a whopping £250million with an exodus of players also expected.

Young gun Gray, 20, has been one of the bright sparks amid a dark campaign at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Despite their league troubles last season, the club won the Europa League, beating United in the final, under Ange Postecoglou before axing the Australian at the end of the season.

Appointing Thomas Frank did little for their fortunes and firefighter Igor Tudor has won just one game since being appointed his successor until the end of the campaign.

Spurs have not won a game in the league this year and have a huge relegation six-pointer against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

European giants Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have been linked with making a mega move for Gary and believe £55million would be enough to score the talent’s services given Spurs’ woes.

Rising Star

Gray came through the academy at Elland Road, continuing a long family tradition with his father, grandfather and great uncle all playing for the club.

His debut season, where he made 52 appearances for Leeds with 44 of those coming in the Championship, saw him win the club’s Young Player of the Season Awards as well as the EFL’s Championship Player of the Season and Apprentice of the Season.

He was also named in the PFA’s Championship Team of the Season and earned himself a move to Spurs for a fee reported to be £40million.
