Napoli want to keep hold of Leonardo Spinazzola and will offer him a new deal, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The Italian defender signed a two-year deal at the club when he left Roma in 2024.
And our sources understand Napoli will offer him a two-year contract extension to remain at the club.
Turkish club Galatasaray missed out on the player when he decided to remain in Serie A instead and are monitoring his contract situation closely once again.
The left-back has started in five of Napoli’s first seven games in all competitions so far this season and is a firm part of Antonio Conte’s plans this season and beyond.
Top Form
Conte has employed the former Italy international at right-back in recent weeks and his versatility is one of the key reasons the former Chelsea coach wants to keep him at the club.
The 32-year-old last played for the national side in 2023, but there have been calls for him to return to the Azzurri set-up after the form he has shown in the early parts of the season.
Previously linked with Arsenal, the experienced defender was named in the Team of the Tournament at Euro 2020 as Italy lifted the trophy, beating England on penalties in the final.
Spinazzola has never played outside of his homeland and started his professional career with Juventus.
His nine-year association with Juve included no less than seven separate loan moves.
In 2019 he moved to Roma, signing a five-year deal, for a fee in the region of €30million.
During his time at Roma he won the Conference League in 2022 and finished runners-up in the Europa League the following year under Jose Mourinho.
He made 27 appearances during his first season at Napoli last term as the club secured their fourth Serie A title.
