Exclusive: Al-Ahli Lead Chase for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson as Bayern Decline £56m Buy

Nicolas Jackson is a target for the Saudi Pro League with clubs monitoring his situation closely. Currently on loan at Bayern Munich, the Chelsea striker is eyed as a potential replacement for Ivan Toney at Al-Ahli. With interest from clubs in Europe, a move to Saudi Arabia may be the more viable option due to Chelsea's hefty asking price of around £70million.

Nicolas Jackson is a target for the Saudi Pro League, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

SportsBoom sources have been told a number of teams in the league are monitoring the striker’s situation closely heading into the final few months of the season.

Al-Ahli are one of the club’s interested in a summer move for the Chelsea hitman and see him as a potential replacement for Ivan Toney.

Former Brentford striker Toney is reportedly eyeing up a move back to the Premier League after two seasons in Saudi Arabia.

Jackson, 24, is currently on loan at German giants Bayern Munich, but will return to Stamford Bridge in the summer with Munich opting against triggering their £56.2million option to buy.

The Senegal international has netted five times during his loan spell at the Allianz Arena, but is understandably playing second fiddle to England star Harry Kane at the club.

Despite his lean returns in the Bundesliga, that has not deterred suitors with interest in Europe as well as Saudi Arabia.

During his two seasons as Chelsea’s first-choice number nine, Jackson netted 14 and ten goals respectively which has led to interest from Aston Villa and Newcastle United in the past.

There are teams in Spain and Italy reportedly interested in the player. Newcastle and Aston Villa have also recently been linked with a move.

Whopping Asking Price

However, teams in Saudi may be the only viable option considering Chelsea’s hefty asking price for the player they signed for around £35million in 2023.

Bayern Munich paid a £13million loan fee with their option to buy taking them up to almost £70million for the striker.

It is unclear what new boss Liam Rosenior plans to do with Jackson next season. He was out of favour with departed boss Enzo Maresca and Chelsea’s stance is seemingly to sell.

The player is contracted to the west London club until 2031 after penning a whopping eight-year deal.
