Premier League side West Ham United have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Zulte Waregem midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi, sources have told SportsBoom.

West Ham’s Interest and Initial Talks

The Hammers have been interested in the 22-year-old Nigerian international for quite some time ahead of a possible transfer.

SportsBoom earlier reported that a West Ham representative held discussions with the player and his agent regarding the club’s interest.

A reliable source disclosed that the meeting took place in Morocco, where Tochukwu Nnadi was representing Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

SportsBoom has now gathered that the meeting between both parties was productive, with Nnadi expressing interest in joining the Premier League side.

Personal Terms Progressing

According to the source, talks over personal terms are progressing well, and once an agreement is reached, both clubs are expected to begin negotiations over the transfer fee.

West Ham are prepared to table a five-year contract offer for the Super Eagles prospect, viewing his qualities as instrumental in reinforcing their midfield.

Competition From Other Clubs

Nnadi is also attracting interest from across the Premier League, with Brighton, Leeds United, Newcastle United, and Crystal Palace all understood to be monitoring his progress.

Clubs in Germany and Spain are also keeping a close watch on developments, although West Ham are believed to be the most advanced in their pursuit.

International Experience and AFCON Impact

The defensive midfielder was part of Nigeria’s U-20 team that reached the quarter-finals of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina. He has since progressed to the senior national team, thanks to his impressive performances for Zulte Waregem this season.

Nnadi made his AFCON debut against Uganda, coming on in Nigeria’s final group match. He also helped the Super Eagles finish third at the recently concluded AFCON in Morocco.
