Can Uzun, the new "golden boy" of European football following his standout performances for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, has sparked a major transfer war among Premier League giants.

The 20-year-old Turkish international is now firmly on the radar of Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United. Beyond standard scout reports, the personal interest of top managers is shifting the dynamics of this race.

Champions League Statement

Adding immediate heat to the transfer talk, Can Uzun delivered a high-stakes performance in the Champions League just last night (January 21, 2026).

Uzun showcased his elite composure by scoring a clinical equaliser in the 10th minute against Qarabağ in Baku.

Although Frankfurt suffered a dramatic 3-2 defeat, Uzun’s individual display, marked by his technical brilliance and "big-stage" temperament, has reportedly led scouts to upgrade his status to an "immediate priority" for the upcoming window.

Unai Emery: "A Talent with a Special Touch"

Tactical mastermind Unai Emery, who has taken Aston Villa to the top of the Premier League, is reportedly "captivated" by Uzun’s football intelligence.

Insiders suggest that Emery sees the youngster’s fluidity between the lines and off-the-ball movement as a perfect tactical fit for his system.

Rather than just another transfer target, the Spanish manager views Can Uzun as a "special piece" who could become the creative heartbeat of his attack. The fact that Villa scouts have put every single one of Can's matches under the microscope this season is a clear sign of Emery’s admiration.

Newcastle United’s Long-Term Vision

On the other hand, Newcastle United, now one of the wealthiest clubs in the world, views Can Uzun as a strategic long-term investment rather than a quick fix.

The Magpies' hierarchy believes Uzun has the potential to evolve into a global superstar and wants to secure his signature before his market value explodes further.

Newcastle are also reportedly looking to hijack Fulham’s £30m move for Man City winger Oscar Bobb, aiming to swoop in before the deal is finalised.

€80 Million: A New Era for Turkish Football

While no official bid has been submitted yet, Eintracht Frankfurt has set the asking price at a staggering €80 million.

Sporting Director Markus Krösche is using Uzun’s contract (valid until 2029) as leverage, making it clear they won't negotiate for anything less. If a deal is struck at this price, Uzun will not only move to the world’s biggest league but also become the most expensive Turkish player in history.

Uzun’s consistency in the Bundesliga and his rise with the Turkish national team continue to reinforce the "elite prospect" tag in scouting reports.

Although no formal moves have been made yet, the battle between Aston Villa’s tactical project and Newcastle’s financial power is expected to dominate the Summer 2026 transfer window.
