Exclusive: Sheff Utd's Michael Cooper on Premier League Radar as Leeds, Sunderland, and Everton Circle

Premier League clubs are vying for Sheffield United goalkeeper Michael Cooper, with Leeds, Sunderland, and Everton interested in a potential £8 million transfer. Despite just missing out on promotion, Cooper's impressive performances have caught the eye of top-flight scouts. Blades boss Chris Wilder is keen to keep him at the club, but a move may happen when the transfer window reopens on June 16th.

Sheffield United shot-stopper Michael Cooper is wanted by a trio of Premier League clubs, SportsBoom sources can exclusively reveal.

The Blades narrowly missed out on promotion back to the top-flight last season after suffering an agonising 2-1 Championship Play-Off final defeat to Sunderland last month.

But Cooper has still won many admirers for a string of starring performances between the posts for the South Yorkshire outfit.

And now promoted Leeds and Sunderland, as well as Everton, have all expressed an interest in his services for next season, with a £8million price tag rumoured.

Cooper, 25, played 46 times last season for the Blades in a campaign which promised so much, but ultimately fell just short at the final hurdle.

SCOUTS WATCHING

But Premier League clubs sent scouts to watch him in action for most of last season and believe he is ready for a move up in divisions.

Cooper only joined the Blades in August 2024 and has been at Bramall Lane for less than 12 months.

However, the opportunity to play in the Premier League will be tough to turn down.

The former Plymouth Argyle keeper won the League One title with the Pilgrims in the 2022-23 season and was an EFL Trophy runner-up in the same season.

And after seven seasons at Home Park he decided a move to the Blades was the best for his development and career step in his quest to one day play in the Premier League.

Blades boss Chris Wilder is a big fan of the keeper and understandably keen to keep him at the club.

His current deal has two years left to run having joined for a fee believed to be £2million, potentially rising to £4million with add-ons, including a percentage of the profit from any future sell-on fee.

Any potential move will now likely happen when the transfer window re-opens on Monday 16th June.
