Tottenham Hotspur are considering selling midfielder Yves Bissouma to AC Milan, as the 29-year-old Mali international has fallen out of favor under new boss Thomas Frank. Tottenham Hotspur are considering selling unwanted midfielder Yves Bissouma to AC Milan, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The experienced 29-year-old Mali international has fallen out of favour at Spurs since the arrival of new boss Thomas Frank.
And although West Ham and Everton have been heavily linked with the player, the North London club are reluctant to sell Bissouma to a Premier League rival.
Spurs hoped to sell Bissouma or get the former Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder out on loan before the summer transfer window shut.
However, he remained at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and has not played a single game yet this season, with Frank proving he is not part of his plans.
He was offered to Milan prior to the window shutting, but Spurs and the Italian giants struggled to get a deal done.
Earlier this season, Bissouma was shamed by his Danish boss for persistent lateness and was subsequently dropped from the club’s European Super Cup squad as a public punishment.
FALL FROM GRACE
It marks a swift fall from grace for Bissouma, who was a regular started for Spurs under former boss Ange Postecoglou.
He played 23 Premier League games in his debut season for the club and made 28 Premier League appearances for each of the last two campaigns.
Despite winning the Europa League title last season, Frank has been firm in his stance that Bissouma would have to buck up his ideas to stand any chance of breaking into his team.
And behind closed-doors it has been discussed that it would suit both parties well if Bissouma were to leave after three seasons at the club.
He joined Spurs in a high-profile £30million deal from the Seagulls in June 2022 on a four-year deal.
But with just a year left on his contract, Spurs are hoping to cash in on the out-of-favour defensive-minded midfielder.
