Wolves are in serious danger of losing their third star player in the summer transfer window, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
Our sources have learnt that Portuguese international midfielder Gonçalo Guedes is ready to leave following the high-profile departures of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri for a combined £93.5million.
Brazil striker Cunha has agreed a £62.5million deal to join Manchester United, while Algeria international full-back Ait-Nouri has signed for Manchester City in a deal worth £31million.
Guedes, 28, is still under contract at Molineux until June 2027, and is valued at £45million by the club.
And if Wolves do sell then they would stand to land a hefty profit having bought Guedes for £27.5million in August 2022 from Valencia.
The former Benfica and Villareal defender was a regular starter for Wolves last season and played 33 times for manager Vitor Pereira’s side that finished 16th in the Premier League last term.
CONSIDERING OPTIONS
And although Pereira would like to keep Guedes, he has revealed that the player is considering his options after two seasons with the Midlands-based club.
Aston Villa, Manchester United and Bournemouth have all expressed an interest in the player’s future, although SportsBoom understands Guedes is also attracting plenty of attention from top clubs in Europe as he looks at his next move.
Guedes has only just completed his first season for the club having spent much of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Villareal having been surplus to requirements.
And in the 2022-23 season he was loaned to Benfica and spent most of his season playing in the Primeria League.
But with Wolves having finished so low in the top-flight, the 32-cap international is seeing if he can bag a deal at one of the league’s top clubs.
Guedes has ambitions to play in the Champions League and is hungry to find a regular home having spent two of the last three season out on loan.
