SportsBoom can confirm that Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers have intensified their pursuit of Genk forward Tolu Arokodare, following complications in their bid to sign Getafe striker Uche Christantus.

Wolves had reached an agreement with Getafe over Christantus, but the move stalled due to personal terms and other issues.

While the deal is not entirely dead, the Midlands club have turned their attention to Arokodare, who is also attracting interest from Serie A giants AC Milan and Napoli, as well as being previously linked with Fulham.

Talks Underway With Genk

A source close to the Arokodare confirmed that Wolves have contacted Genk, though no official bid has yet been submitted. The Belgian club are believed to value the striker at around £20m, which is expected to form the basis of any negotiations.

“The interest is very strong and Wolves are keen to bring him to England,” the source told SportsBoom.com.

“Genk are also open to selling him, which explains why he has not been playing regularly. They don’t want him to risk injury before a move. He is definitely leaving—that much is certain," he added.

Potential Five-Year Deal

If an agreement is reached, Arokodare is expected to sign a five-year contract at Molineux.

In a previous interview with SportsBoom, Arokodare even expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, which makes the move even more likely.

"Obviously, it's a dream to play in the Premier League, but I have my eyes on it for sure. Whatever options I have, I'll take my time and make the best decision," he told SportsBoom.com.

Wolves are not looking to waste time as manager Vítor Pereira reportedly still wants two more attacking recruits before the transfer window closes, as insurance if star forward Jørgen Strand Larsen is to be sold to Newcastle.

The 23-year-old Nigerian joined Genk in 2023 and enjoyed a standout campaign last season, scoring 23 goals and providing seven assists in all competitions.

He had even been linked with a move to Manchester United earlier in the window, but the club instead chose to pursue more Premier League-proven options in Bryan Mbeumo and former Wolves star Matheus Cunha.
