Exclusive: Scotland's Lewis Ferguson Keen on Premier League Move with Everton and West Ham on Alert

Scottish midfielder Lewis Ferguson is attracting interest from Everton and West Ham as he assesses his options ahead of the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old has impressed in Serie A with Bologna, but prefers a move to the Premier League. Napoli are front-runners for his signature, with Ferguson keen to join his Scotland teammates in Naples. Bologna would not prevent a move if the price is right, as Ferguson looks to progress his career following a successful recovery from injury.

Lewis Ferguson is assessing his options ahead of the summer transfer window, according to SportsBoom sources.

The Scotland international helped Italian side Bologna reach the Champions League last season and it is believed qualifying for Europe’s elite competition will be the only way for the club to retain the highly sought-after attacking midfielder.

Everton and West Ham are both monitoring the player’s situation ahead of transitional summers at the respective clubs.

Ferguson, 25, has impressed since moving to Serie A since moving to Bologna in 2022 and is settled in Italy.

And that form has seen him linked with the Italian big boys with Napoli, Inter Milan and Juventus.

But SportsBoom sources understand Ferguson would prefer a move to the Premier League, although he realises that may not be viable this year.

SCOTLAND CONNECTION

Napoli are the front-runners for the Bologna captain's signature with fellow Scotland stars Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour already in Naples.

And Ferguson is keen to join his fellow countrymen if a move to England's top flight fails to materialise.

The attacking midfielder is under contract until 2028, with an option for a further year, but it is understood Bologna higher-ups would not stand in the way of a move that would progress the player's career if the price is right.

Ferguson has returned to form with a bang after recovering from a cruciate injury which kept him out for seven months and is on the verge of a big move.

The midfielder made the move from Aberdeen to Italy in 2022, for around £2million, and has never looked back.

He was named Series A Midfielder of the Year last season under Thiago Motta, who is now Juventus boss.
