Tottenham Hotspur face a battle to keep Dejan Kulusevski this summer, SportsBoom have been told.

The Swedish international joined the club on loan in 2022 before signing a permanent deal the next summer.

When he joined the North London outfit, they were one of the Premier League big guns fighting it out for the Champions League.

But things have gone downhill this season with Ange Postecoglu under immense pressure in the Spurs’ hot seat.

And it is understood that Kulusevski wants out of the club, who are struggling to secure themselves European football next term, and is open to returning to Italy.

AC Milan and Napoli are both vying for the 24-year-old’s signature as he looks to life away from Spurs.

Milan are regarded as the frontrunners to secure Kulusevski’s services, but Napoli have sent their top negotiator to London to discuss a transfer with Spurs' officials.

Antonio Conte was the man who brought Kulusevski to Spurs and he wants a reunion with the midfielder at Napoli and has made the player his top target this summer.

    CLUBS ARE CALLING

Spurs’ supremo Daniel Levy is renowned as a tough negotiator and the club do not want to lose one of their best players this term.

Kulusevski is under contract until 2028 and the club will want in excess of £50million to part with the player.

The Swedish international started his professional career at Atalanta and moved to Juventus in January 2020 after showcasing his talents during a successful loan spell at Parma.

He went sent back on loan to the club and finished the campaign with ten goals and nine assists, which earned him the Serie A Best Young Player award.

Kulusevski then joined Spurs on an 18-month loan deal in 2022 and his initial loan fee, plus the sum they forked out to sign him permanently, amounts to €45million.
