When asked if he feels more confident going into this match compared to their previous encounter at the Crucible, Ford expressed, "Yeah, because it’s round two this time. I feel stronger mentally, whereas I’ve always struggled when I come here [The Crucible] when I missed a few balls, I’d always beat myself up. I think it can be different this time," he told SportsBoom.com.

I've only just won my first-ever game, so I'm not going to sit here and say I'm looking at the trophy because I'm not, the only thing I'm looking at is trying to get past Judd Trump in round two."
