Rory McIlroy shoots a 63 at The Open in 2010

Rory McIlroy showed some incredible golf skill when he shot a round of 63 at The Open Championship in 2010. "The round was going OK, you know, nothing special,” McIlroy said. “And then the eagle on nine really got me going. I just kicked on from there. I think that was the point where my round really got going."

Branden Grace shoots a 62 at The Open in 2017

Branden Grace created history when he became the first man to shoot 62 in a major. Branden Grace achieved this record with a round of 62 at The Open Championship in 2017. “I knew making the turn in five under was pretty special. I thought if I could make a couple more on the back nine, then it was going to be a great score. I had no idea that 62 was the lowest ever.” - said Branden Grace.

2023 is the year of Rickie Fowler with a 62

Rickie Fowler shot a round of 62 at the US Open in 2023. Rickie Fowler recorded ten birdies, and two bogeys. “As much as it sucks to not be in the position I wanted to be after today, we’re just continuing to build and continuing to move forward. Not the finish I wanted, but there’s a lot of really good things to take from this week.” - said Fowler.

Shane Lowry with a 62 at the 2024 PGA Championship

Most recently, Shane Lowry was the talk of the golfing world with a round of 62 at the 2024 PGA Championship. Lowry scored nine birdies in a bogey-free round, however, he was disappointed that he did not manage to score a 61. “Probably the most disappointed anyone can ever be shooting 62," Lowry told reporters. "I knew what was at stake. Just didn't hit the ball hard enough. Had it on a good read and just broke away from the hole."

Xander Schauffele shows his class with a 62

Xander Schauffele shot a round of 62 at the 2024 PGA Championship. To add further celebration to this great low score, Schauffele also won the 2024 PGA Championship. Xander Schauffele hit a 6-foot birdie putt on the final hole to win the tournament.
