"We focus on form going in, selecting key tournaments to maintain consistency and ensure readiness for the big stage."

Walsh's approach involves a detailed work-back schedule, setting key performance indicators (KPIs), and adapting to the unique strengths of his team. "We work backwards from the Olympics, modelling different scenarios and maintaining flexibility to navigate challenges," he adds.

With this being his fourth Olympics, the only weight is gold.

"Data is valuable, but it's about using the right data that aligns with our team and sport," Walsh explains. Women's rugby is flourishing worldwide, with formidable foes like New Zealand, and even Canada, and France emerging as potential opponents. "Every team presents a unique challenge, driving us to constantly innovate and elevate our game."
