The stage is all set for one of the biggest cricketing events in the Cricket. Yes, we are talking about the T20 World Cup 2024 and the tournament is less than one month away from now. The preparations for the tournament are in high flow as both ICC as well the respective cricketing boards of nations are making sure that everything is right on the money.
When T20 World Cup 2024 will start?
The T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to kick start on the 1st of June in the United States of America (USA) and the Caribbean. The first game will be played between USA and Canada and on the same date West Indies will be taking on Papua New Guinea in the next game.
The marquee event will see a total of 55 matches, spanning over one month. 16 games will be played in America while the remaining 42 games including the final and semi-final will be played in West Indies.
The T20 World Cup 2024, which will be the 9th edition of the tournament, will also see history getting scripted. It will be the first time that 20 teams will be taking part in the tournament. Earlier only 16 teams used to take part in the tournament. This is a huge step by the ICC to promote cricket all over the world.
The tournament will be played over the month of June. The semi-final stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be played on the 26th and 27th of June in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana. The final of the marquee tournament is all set to be played in Barbados on 29 June.
T20 World Cup 2024 team Groups
The T20 World Cup 2024 will see 20 teams getting divided into 4 groups. Each group will see 5 teams and the top two teams from each team will advance further to the Super 8 stage of the tournament. The top four teams in the Super 8 stage will be locking horns with each other in the semi-finals. The winners in that stage will then play the final.
