Girona bounced back from a bad run after securing two wins on the trot over Alaves and Real Valladolid, with four goals scored. Against the former, Girona left it late through a Romero goal in 90+minutes having kept the hosts out for most of the game.
Despite better ball possession, Alaves was the better team on the day and was unlucky not to get anything from the game. Similarly, Sevilla left it late to secure a point against relegation threatened Valencia. A five-game run with mixed fortunes sees Girona not being able to produce consistent results like what saw them qualify for the Champions League last season.
