Milton Delgado, who rose through the Boca Juniors youth academy and serves as a "dynamo" in the heart of the midfield, is viewed as one of the most strategic "potential" transfers of Summer 2026.

Standing out not just with his physical strength but with his ability to play as a "box-to-box" midfielder, the 20-year-old Argentine offers a low-cost but high-return investment opportunity for European clubs referred to as "mid-tier."

A broad scouting network stretching from the Premier League to the MLS, and from Italy to Spain, has Delgado under "close-quarters monitoring" in every match.

"The Door is Open if the Valuation is Met"

The Boca management appears ready to apply the club's traditional "polish and sell" model to Delgado as well.

Although the Boca Juniors management sees Delgado as one of the backbone players of the team's future, the economic realities facing Argentine clubs and the player's dream of Europe strengthen the possibility of a sale. While the club officially gives the message "we are satisfied with our player," the squad planning in the background is being constructed around Delgado's potential departure.

While Boca are not prioritising selling Delgado, they are displaying an attitude that will not block the process when a reasonable offer arrives.

Given Delgado's current market value and potential, it is expected that Boca Juniors will open the door with a considerable figure.

However, details such as bonus clauses in the contract and a "sell-on clause" will determine the final shape of this figure.

The Argentine side is maintaining a very firm stance at the bargaining table to ensure they do not let their player go below market value.

A potential sale of Delgado will create a significant resource in the transfer budget for Boca. The club plans to use the money generated from here to make a more experienced "number ten" reinforcement and to modernise the youth academy facilities.

Additionally, this sale will serve as a balancing element in the wage budget to make room for younger players.

Interested Clubs: A Multi-National Tracking Line

Delgado's versatile playing style attracts interest from teams across different football cultures.

England (Premier League): Sunderland and Leeds United, looking to become permanent powers in the Premier League, view Delgado as a key piece to add resilience to their midfield. Additionally, Everton and Crystal Palace are among the clubs closely monitoring the player's physical development. His resilience, especially during moments when the tempo of the game increases, is the standout feature attracting English clubs.

Italy and Spain (Serie A & La Liga): Having entered the radar of Italian clubs with his technical capacity and tactical discipline, Delgado is an ideal "regista" candidate for sides like Udinese and Torino. In Spain, La Liga teams looking to increase passing quality in their midfield setup, such as Real Betis and Getafe, are closely analyzing the player's performance data.

The MLS Project: It is reported that Inter Miami and Atlanta United are testing the waters to add Delgado to their squads via the "Young DP" (Designated Player) slot. The opportunities offered by the MLS for physical development remain on the table as an attractive option for the player's side as well.

Detail of the Talks: At the moment, there is no official and written offer that has reached the club. However, it is among leaked information that the player's representatives went on a European tour last month and held some "preliminary talks" specifically in Spain and England.
