Known as the batters’ game for its quick pace and fast scoring rate, there have been moments in the shortest format of the game where all the batters have a rare bad day resulting in a low or below-par score. There have been a number of collapses in the most widely played format of cricket.

In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that all 105 members would get T20 international status starting from January 1, 2019. The decision saw a huge increase in the number of T20Is and several records being made and broken every other day.

West Indies 45 vs England, 2019

West Indies have been bowled out for just 45 against England in T20I.jpegIn the 2nd T20I of England’s tour to the Caribbean, a star-studded West Indies side were chasing 183 at Warner Park. David Willey and Chris Jordan attacked in the powerplay and sent 6 batters back into the hut to dent the West Indian chase. Jordan finished with career-best figures of 4/6 with Willey, Liam Plunkett and Adil Rashid taking a couple of wickets apiece. Only Carlos Brathwaite and Shimron Hetmyer scored into double figures (10 each) for the West Indies as the two-time world champions fell for their lowest-ever score.

West Indies 55 vs England, 2021

A big occasion for both teams as they face each other in the 2021 T20 World Cup in Dubai. The defending champions West Indies had beaten the same side to win the silverware in 2016. Batting first on this occasion, Moeen Ali spun a web in the powerplay opening the bowling with Adil Rashid, Chris Woakes, Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan chipping in at regular intervals. Gayle batting at 3 top scored with 13 but the West Indies side bundled out for just 55 in 14.2 overs with England chasing the total down with 6 wickets in hand.

New Zealand 60 vs Bangladesh, 2021

In the series opener at Mirpur, the Bangladesh bowling attack flourished in a combined strike to restrict New Zealand to just 60 runs in 16.5 overs. Henry Nicholls and Tom Latham both scored 18 with Mustafizur Rahman taking 3 wickets. Shakib Al Hasan, Nasum Ahmed and Mohammad Saifuddin picked up a couple of wickets and bowled economically to complete a famous win, chasing the total down in 15 overs.

New Zealand 60 vs Sri Lanka, 2014

During the 2014 World T20 in Bangladesh, the Kiwi attack led by Trent Boult bundled Sri Lanka out for a paltry 119 and were looking for another victory. Little did they know what was going to unleash. Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath was introduced early in the defence. Helped by Guptill’s run out at the start, it was all Rangana Herath's show as the master spun a web around the Kiwi batters and ran through the lineup taking 5/3 in 3.3 overs. Kane Williamson scored 42 and was run out with 60 runs to win. The next best score was of his opening partner Martin Guptill who made 5.

West Indies 60 vs Pakistan, 2014

In the first T20 international of the series, hosts Pakistan romped their way to their joint-highest T20 score thanks to handy contributions from all the batters. Chasing 204 to win, the second-string West Indies lineup were put to test by the spinners as Mohammad Nawaz, Shoaib Malik and Shadab Khan shared 5 wickets between them. Fast bowlers Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali and Hussain Talat accounted for the remaining five. The experienced Marlon Samuels hit 18 and was the top scorer for the visiting side.
