Professional Background

Chad’s career in the sports betting industry began in October 2013 when he joined Hollywoodbets. During his time there, he wrote football betting content for the Hollywoodbets Sports Blog and contributed extensively to their weekly betting publication, Soccer Betting News. His work and leadership eventually led to him being appointed Editor-in-Chief of the publication in February 2016.  

After spending a decade with the purple brand, Chad looked to broaden his horizons beyond football. In January 2024, he joined Sports Brief, where he covered a wider range of sports. Although he primarily worked as a copy editor, he also contributed written content for both the Sports Brief website and its partner platform, Briefly News.  

Alongside his full-time roles, Chad built a strong freelance portfolio. From February 2021 to August 2024, he wrote for SPORTbible, Sports Illustrated, and Absolute Chelsea, producing weekly features, opinion pieces, and transfer news about the club he has supported since childhood.

Why did you get into the sports betting industry?

I’ve always loved sports, especially football, and I wanted a way to turn that passion into a career. Sports betting gave me the chance to combine writing, analysis, and strategy – and to create content that actually helps people make smarter bets.

What do you think makes a good bettor?

Discipline and research. The best bettors don’t just follow favourites or luck; they study trends, understand value, and stick to a plan. Emotion never beats analysis.

How do you spot value in the markets?

Value comes from spotting when the odds underestimate a team, horse, or fighter’s real chances. It’s about comparing probabilities to the odds on offer and being confident enough to back your research.

What advice would you give someone new to betting?
