How many LaLiga titles have FC Barcelona won?

Barcelona have always been known for their attacking style of play, retaining possession and extensive use of intricate short passes (tiki-taka). Eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi is not only Barcelona’a all-time top scorer in the league but also the all-time top scorer in league’s history with 474 goals to his name. 

Lionel Messi is also the club’s all-time appearance maker in LaLiga with an incredible 520 appearances to his name. While former manager and former club captain Xavi is second with 505 league appearances to his name. 

Once again leading the list is none other than Lionel Messi. The Argentine star recorded an incredible 192 assists in 520 LaLiga appearances. 

The most successful manager in the club’s history is the legendary Spaniard Pep Guardiola, who won 14 trophies with the club. The club lifted an incredible six trophies in a single season (2009) with Pep Guardiol at the helm. The second most successful manager in the club’s history is the legendary Johan Cruyff, who lifted eight trophies as manager of the LaLiga giants. Interestingly both the managers had a very successful spell at the club as a player prior to their managerial run.  

Lionel Messi is also the club’s most successful player in history. The Argentine star made his debut for FC Barcelona on 16 October 2004 and went on to win an incredible 35 trophies with the club. Andrés Iniesta is second on the list, the Spanish midfielder won 32 trophies while playing for the Catalan giants.

From Cesar Rodriguez to Diego Maradona to  Johan Cruyff to Ronaldinho to Lionel Messi, some of the greatest footballers in history have played for the club over the years. But the title of FC Barcelona’s greatest player undoubtedly goes to Lionel Messi, who will go down in history as possibly the greatest football player of all time.
