Atalanta's Ademola Lookman's future is uncertain as his relationship with the club deteriorates. Tottenham, Galatasaray, and Roma are interested in the winger, with Galatasaray in advanced talks. Lookman's contract is running down, increasing the likelihood of a transfer in 2026.

Ademola Lookman’s future at Atalanta is increasingly in doubt, with Galatasaray and Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs monitoring the forward ahead of the January transfer window, SportsBoom understands.
Relationship with Atalanta deteriorates
The 27-year-old’s relationship with the Serie A club has deteriorated sharply in recent months, having once appeared firmly settled in Bergamo.
Tensions emerged in the summer when Atalanta refused to sanction his preferred move to Inter Milan. Lookman subsequently submitted a transfer request and missed much of pre-season.
Touchline spat deepens rift
Although Lookman later returned to the first-team set-up, the atmosphere did not improve and was further strained by a touchline confrontation with former head coach Ivan Jurić during a Champions League match away to Marseille.
Jurić appeared to shove the Nigerian international after he reacted angrily to being substituted. The former Southampton manager was dismissed days later, but SportsBoom reports the forward’s relationship with the club remains fractured.
Lookman’s decision to unfollow Atalanta’s Instagram account and delete photos of himself in club colours added to speculation about his desire to leave.
Interest from Tottenham, Galatasaray and Roma
Several clubs have shown interest in the former Everton and Fulham winger, according to SportsBoom. Tottenham Hotspur who made an enquiry back in September alongside Bayern Munich remain among his suitors. Roma and Turkish champions Galatasaray have also expressed interest, with early contact made.
Galatasaray are thought to be the most advanced in their pursuit, having seen a loan approach rejected in the summer. They are expected to return with another offer ahead of the January window.
Contract running down
Lookman is entering the final 18 months of his contract in Bergamo, and with no progress on a renewal, SportsBoom understands an exit in 2026 is increasingly likely. Atalanta may now look to cash in rather than risk losing him for a reduced fee later.
