Chelsea Braced for Potential Exodus with Enzo Fernández Tipped to Leave Stamford Bridge

Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez is set to quit Stamford Bridge this summer, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The Argentine World Cup winner is contracted to the Blues until the summer of 2032.
But our sources understand Fernandez has had his head turned with interest from Champions League rivals Real Madrid and Paris St Germain.
He was non-committal over his desire to stay when questioned after his team’s embarrassing last 16, 8-2 aggregate defeat to the Parisians earlier this week.
Fernandez is also wanted in Saudi Arabia but few leading stars are contemplating going to the Middle East at the moment because of the ongoing troubles.
It is understood the star wants to remain in Europe and challenge for titles rather than a Saudi cash grab.
Any departure from Chelsea could start a mass exodus involving the London club’s stellar names.
Cole Palmer has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United. And his form this season has prompted concerns inside the Bridge that the Mancunian’s head may have already been turned.
Fellow Ecuadorian midfielder Moses Caicedo is also on the wish list of Champions League holders PSG and Spanish giants Madrid.
But it’s Fernandez that could be first to leave due to uncertainty over manager Liam Rosenoir’s future and the possibility of missing out on the Champions League next season.
If Fernandez makes the switch to Real Madrid this summer, it could also trigger the exit of England star Jude Bellingham, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League to continue his career closer to home.
PSR On The Mind At Stamford Bridge
Chelsea broke the then British transfer record when they paid Benfica £106million for his services in 2023. Alexander Isak’s £125million switch from Newcastle to Liverpool set a new high bar last summer.
It is debatable whether he has been value for money, scoring 28 goals across 160 games with 29 assists.
Chelsea became World Club champions last summer and lifted the European Super Cup but haven’t won a domestic trophy since his arrival.
Chelsea will try and recoup the money paid to Benfica when he does leave. It’s been estimated they would need to sell him for a minimum £75million just to break even.
That shouldn’t be a problem but if Fernandez digs in his heels about a move as Isak did at Newcastle, they may struggle to get close to a nine-figure transfer.
