Exclusive: Wolves and Crystal Palace Emerge as Front-Runners for Chelsea Outcast Axel Disasi
Chelsea's Axel Disasi is at the center of a transfer storm with interest from Serie A giants, Juventus, Milan, and Roma. However, his high wages are a stumbling block. Premier League clubs like Wolves and Crystal Palace are also eyeing the defender. Chelsea is now willing to accept offers around £20-23 million, opening up the possibility of a loan deal. Teams in Ligue 1 are also monitoring the situation.

The final days of the January 2026 transfer window are witnessing a massive defensive reshuffle across Europe.
At the centre of this storm is Chelsea’s French international defender Axel Disasi.
After falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge, the 27-year-old’s future has become the key to several major moves involving the Premier League, Serie A, and even the Turkish Süper Lig.
The Italian Financial Hurdle
Axel Disasi has been officially offered to Serie A’s "big three": Juventus, AC Milan, and AS Roma.
While all three clubs are keen on his defensive qualities and physical presence, a significant roadblock has emerged regarding his wages.
The Italian giants find the Frenchman's current salary demands too high for their existing structures. However, the door remains open; if Disasi agrees to a significant pay cut to facilitate the move, the Italian trio is ready to launch formal negotiations with Chelsea.
The Premier League Dominoes
The situation is further complicated by movements elsewhere in the Premier League.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly green-lit Emmanuel Agbadou’s move to Beşiktaş, creating a void in their backline. Wolves are now seriously considering Disasi as a high-quality replacement.
Simultaneously, with Marc Guéhi’s move to Manchester City now confirmed, Crystal Palace are preparing to reinvest the significant funds raised from his departure, with Axel Disasi added to their shortlist of potential replacements.
Furthermore, West Ham United have already made contact with the player’s inner circle to monitor his availability.
Aston Villa had been keen on a permanent deal for Disasi last summer, but ultimately opted for different defensive reinforcements.
New Price Tag Revealed
In a bid to get his heavy wages off their books, Chelsea management is becoming increasingly flexible.
Sources indicate that the Blues are now ready to accept offers in the region of £20-23 million for a permanent transfer.
Additionally, they are open to a loan deal with an obligation to buy. This shift in stance has alerted not only English and Italian clubs but also teams in Ligue 1, as Disasi has not ruled out a return to his homeland.
