Player Career Timeline

Fallon Sherrock

Fallon Sherrock became the first female player to win the Women’s World Matchplay in 2022. Although she lost in the first round the following year, she reached another final in 2024. Her accolades extend further in this sport, and she is known for breaking new boundaries by competing with men in the PDC World Championship.

Her impressive A-game makes her hard to stop, proved by her 16 Women’s Series titles since its inception in 2021. The Milton Keynes star has yet to win a World Championship though, but that’s her choice considering she plays in the main championship over the official women’s one.

Gemma Hayter

One player who has quickly made a name for herself in the darting world is Gemma Hayter. Aside from her calling for more coverage of the women’s game, she’s made impressive strides as she embarks on a Blackpool debut.

Hayter’s not yet won a floor event, but her talent shone through when she reached the final on her debut. She reached another floor final but has formed consistent runs to the latter stages, which qualified her for the biggest event of the year.

  •  2025 Women’s Series Event 16 – Last 32
  • 2025 Women’s Series Event 15 – Last 16

Value Bets

  1. Total Legs – Under 6.5 Legs

All first-round matches are a first to four leg contests. Due to the nature of the short format, players must be on their A-game from the start. We predict this game to be under 6.5 legs. Incredibly though, neither player has faced off yet, making this an intriguing fixture on Sunday.

  2. Most 180s – Fallon Sherrock

Fallon Sherrock’s greatest attribute is her scoring power, which she uses to good effect to punish her opponents, meaning Hayter could struggle to match her.

  3. Highest Checkout – Fallon Sherrock

Sherrock is prone to delivering high checkouts when up against it. She once took out a 170 at her famous Grand Slam of Darts run.  Based on this, we’ve selected her again.

Prediction: Fallon Sherrock to win 4-2

In conclusion, SportsBoom predicts that Fallon Sherrock will progress further with a 4-2 victory. Gemma Hayter will no doubt try and cause as much damage as possible, but given it’s her first time playing on the Winter Gardens stage, Sherrock will have the upper hand.
