Player Career Timeline

Lisa Ashton

Lisa Ashton is one of the sport’s most decorated players in the female game and became the first to earn a tour card outright on the main tour. Her achievements cement her as one of the all-time greats, but this very tournament is one she would love to win and tick off.

Her recent run in the Women’s Series is uninspiring, though, having reached one final from her last five events. Though she takes part in the World Seniors tour too, Ashton’s form could be seen as slightly off the boil, considering her capabilities.

Last 5 Women’s Series Runs:

  • 2025 Women’s Series Event 16 – Final
  • 2025 Women’s Series Event 15 – Last 32
  • 2025 Women’s Series Event 14 – Quarter-Final
  • 2025 Women’s Series Event 13 – Semi-Final
  • 2025 Women’s Series Event 12 – Last 16

Best Achievements:

  • 16x Women Series Titles
  • 4x Women’s World Champion
  • 3x Women’s World Masters
  • 1x World Seniors World Championship Semi-Finalist

Robyn Byrne

Robyn Byrne doesn’t quite have the accolades to match Lisa Ashton’s, but the 28-year-old has made big strides in recent years. She formerly won the World Masters for girls and won three gold medals in the WDF Europe Cup Youth. That said, both in 2023 and 2024, she won a Women’s Series event, so her fifth-placed seeding is well deserved ahead of the tournament.

The Irishwoman previously graced the Blackpool stage back in 2023, defeating Rhian O’Sullivan before losing out to eventual champion Beau Greaves. She will be an opponent not to be underestimated.

Last 5 Women’s Series Runs:

  • 2025 Women’s Series Event 16 – Last 64
  • 2025 Women’s Series Event 15 – Last 64
  • 2025 Women’s Series Event 14 – Last 64
  • 2025 Women’s Series Event 13 – Last 32
  • 2025 Women’s Series Event 12 – Final

Value Bets

  1. Total Legs – Under 6.5 Legs

All first-round matches are a first to four leg contests. Due to the nature of the short format, where players must be on their A-game from the start, we predict this game to be under 6.5 legs.

  2. Most 180s – Lisa Ashton

Lisa Ashton’s impressive scoring could be hard to stop for Robyn Byrne.

  3. Highest Checkout – Lisa Ashton

Given her impressive portfolio, Ashton is prone to delivering high checkouts when up against it. Based on this, we’ve selected her again.

Prediction: Lisa Ashton to win 4-2

In conclusion, SportsBoom predicts that Lisa Ashton will complete a steady 4-2 win over Robyn Byrne. Ashton isn’t in the best form as of late in the floor events, but she feels at ease on the big stage and should prevail.
