Arsenal’s hot teenage prospect Ethan Nwaneri is being targeted by a number of Premier League clubs keen to prize him away from the Emirates Stadium, SportsBoom can reveal.
England Under-21 international Nwaneri is tipped as star for the future having already impressed for club and country after a real ‘breakthrough’ season in the Premier League and at international level.
And it’s little surprise that the 18-year-old’s talents are attracting attention in England and Europe, especially given his assured performances for the Gunners this season.
Fulham, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are all understood to be big admirers, with scouts from Wolves and Newcastle United having also watched him star this season.
Nwaneri, who has had a £50million price tag slapped on him, has enjoyed Champions League football this term and featured in the Arsenal team which reached this year’s semi-final stages, missing out on the final after a 3-1 aggregate defeat to Paris St Germain.
He also bagged his debut England goal in his country’s 4-2 friendly home win over Portugal and has been capped by the Under-21 squad as he continues his rapid rise up the ranks.
And, having made 25 appearances in the Premier League this season, he scored his first senior goals with a brilliant brace against Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup this season.
CHANCE TO SHINE
The Arsenal academy graduate agreed a professional deal with the Gunners in March 2024 and has been rewarded with the chance to shine this season with regular football.
Versatile Nwaneri, who can play as a winger, midfielder and in different forward positions, has featured 36 times for Mikel Arteta’s side and impressed with nine goals across the season.
Arteta is understood to be a big admirer of the player, but is also keen to sign more experienced players ahead of next season as the club look to reward their loyal supporters with success in the Premier League and Champions League.
The manager stressed than Nwaneri’s gametime could change “very quickly” having not featured much in recent weeks for the club, but bizarrely the player has provisionally picked the number 22 shirt ahead of next season, last associated with a goalkeeper David Raya.
Nwaneri would love the chance to play regular football with Arsenal, but SportsBoom can reveal that the player is also open to offers from other Premier League clubs with the promise of minutes on the pitch his main priority.
