Portuguese youth talent Serif Nhaga has left Italian Serie B club Sampdoria, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The former Paris Saint Germain defender had earlier signed on a deal running till June 2028 with the Genoa-based outfit reserves after joining in January, but will now continue his career elsewhere.
It is understood contractual obligations have allowed him to seek pastures new in the event the side failed to retain their status at the end of last season, and the player have taken up that option.
Still aged just 19, Nhaga was highly rated by erstwhile French manager Christophe Galtier at PSG, and was on the cusp of his senior team debut during his time with the Parisian club.
That would not materialize however, and he jumped ship to Sampdoria Primavera earlier this year, going on to play 14 games and contributing three goals and an assist.
Sampdoria B ultimately finished 19th on the Primavera 1 standings, meaning they will be playing in a lower tier next season (Primavera 2), and so the leftback has played his last game for the side when he went the distance in a 2-1 win against Sassuolo in May.
ATTRACTING INTERESTS?
According to sources close to SportsBoom, the player and his camp are already exploring a number of offers though nothing concrete have been reached with any side.
Speaking exclusively to his intermediary who confirmed his exit from Sampdoria is surely done and he is free to listen to offers for his services, SportsBoom understands a number of sides in Turkey, Germany and Holland have made contact about the player.
"Nhaga recently became a free player after Sampdoria Primavera got relegated, so they couldn't afford him", his intermediary who confirmed his departure told SportsBoom.com.
Prominent among them are Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray, Holland Eredivisie's Groningen and a couple of other unnamed sides who are looking to strengthen in defensive areas and have cast their advances at the player.
"I had a phone call about him yesterday, and now again we're only looking to hear from more parties who are strongly interested in him."
"He's a good player, he can be anything he wants to be. If he went to the Championship in UK, or the second league in Germany, or the second league in Spain or somewhere else, within six months, you would have seen what he'd achieved."
"But you have to create an ambitious project for him, because he already knows he's good enough."
From sharing a dressing room with Lionel Messi to playing second-string football, Nhaga knows his next destination would be significantly decisive in his fledgling career.
