Only One Will Go: Brentford Set to Resist Double Exit of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa

Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo is at the center of a heated transfer battle, attracting interest from top Premier League clubs. The Bees are reluctant to lose both Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, who have impressed fans and ex-players. Chelsea and Tottenham have joined the race, but Brentford values Mbeumo highly. Fans hope he will stay, but acknowledge his desire to progress. Other players are ready to step up if Mbeumo leaves.

Free-scoring Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo is set to be a subject of hot transfer tussle this summer, following the amount of interest he continues to court in the Premier League.

A number of Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Newcastle and Arsenal had earlier shown interest, and his list of admirers continue to grow as he continues to churn out scintillating performances every week.

The 25-year-old scored his 19th league goal of the season last weekend against Fulham, alongside his strike partner Yoane Wissa who has also impressed and is not short of admirers as well.

However, SportsBoom has gathered that The Bees are not resolved to losing both of their attackers this summer and will only listen to offers for one of their most prized assets, and only for the right price.

Newcastle United had particularly had their recruitment chief Steve Nickson run the rule over Mbeumo in Brentford's 2-2 draw with Manchester City but the club are believed to have swiftly moved to slap a £55million asking price on the Cameroonian.

Thus, it is looking the acquisition of the player will not come cheap, with a bidding war poised to ensue judging by the growing number of top Premier League clubs who have thrown their hats in the ring for his signature.

CHELSEA AND TOTTENHAM JOIN THE QUENE AS POTENTIAL SUITORS

Chelsea and Tottenham are understood to have registered the latest interests on the attacker, with the latter very much in need of some extra firepower after what has been a largely underwhelming season.

But failure to land European football for next season could prove a stumbling block for Spurs, as most of their contenders are having to dangle that carrot when the bids start coming in this window.

Tottenham have been dealt a huge blow to their Europa League title aspirations with one of their most important players Dejan Kulusevski recently joining their long list of crocked players.

Chelsea themselves could do with some more efficiency upfront and are on the cusp of securing Champions League football for the upcoming campaign, a tournament the Cameroon international is yet to feature in his career and will likely be raring to play in should he jump ship this summer.

MBEUMO AND WISSA REVERED WITHIN THE BRENTFORD COMMUNITY

Having spoken to former Brentford Women head coach Karleigh Osborne, SportsBoom can reveal the duo of Mbeumo and Wissa are highly regarded by everyone who share affection for the club, and a partnership which they wish is not broken up anytime soon.

That said, there is an admission that Mbeumo has earned the right to desire to take his career to the next level and club manager Thomas Frank had reiterated they would not stand in his way as the interests keep coming in.

But there is a wider preference around the Gtech Community stadium that he stays on, particularly should the interested parties fail to match the club's valuation of the striker.

"He's a player i would love to see stay here", Karleigh said of the player exclusively to SportsBoom.com.

"He's quality no doubt, and the kind of player every manager wants to have in his team. I'm absolutely sure Frank wants to keep him, to have him around for next season."

"But it really could come to what the player wants at this point, with the requests that's coming about him."

There is also a huge belief Igor Thiago and Kevin Schade are among the bulk of attackers at the club waiting to take the league by storm, should either of Mbeumo or Wissa depart.
