Exclusive: Samuel Chukwueze Determined to Stay at AC Milan Amid Exit Links

Samuel Chukwueze is determined to remain at AC Milan and prove his worth to manager Sérgio Conceição, despite growing uncertainty surrounding his future at the club, according to sources close to SportsBoom. 

Struggles Since Arrival

Since his high-profile move from Villarreal in the summer of 2023 for over €25 million, the Nigerian international has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter. 

Limited to just nine Serie A starts this season, Chukwueze has often found himself on the bench, raising questions about his long-term role at the club.

Reports have circulated for months suggesting that AC Milan are prepared to part ways with the 24-year-old, considering him surplus to requirements. 

The Rossoneri are reportedly exploring replacements, with Sassuolo winger Armand Laurienté among the names being considered for a summer move.

Interest from Other Clubs

Chukwueze has been linked with several clubs across Europe and the Middle East, with Fulham identified as one of his English admirers. 

Teams in Saudi Arabia and Spain have also reportedly expressed interest, indicating a potentially active transfer window for the winger.

In two seasons with Milan, Chukwueze has yet to make a significant impact. This season alone, he has made 32 appearances across all competitions—totaling 1,214 minutes on the pitch—and scored only three goals in 23 league outings. 

Overall, he has managed just eight goals and four assists in 65 appearances for the club, a return that has prompted concern among the Milan hierarchy.

Player's Commitment to Stay

Despite the persistent transfer rumors, SportsBoom can report that the player remains committed to fighting for his place and the club will be patient with him. 

While the Nigerian winger is said to be frustrated with his lack of playing time, he has no intention of pushing for an exit this summer.

“The priority is the group and the solidity of our team; then, obviously I would like to play a bit more, but the team comes first,” Chukwueze said when asked about his current role at Milan.

Although he still believes he has a future at San Siro, the pressure is mounting. 

Chukwueze must begin to consistently deliver strong performances if he is to convince the club’s decision-makers of his value—especially as Milan prepare for a potentially transformative summer under new management.
