British Masters 2025 Preview: Odds, Tips, & Predictions

Date: August 21-24 Venue: Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, England Defending champion: Niklas Norgaard The DP World Tour swings over to the fabled Belfry course this week for the British Masters. One of the most storied tournaments on the DP World Tour, the British Masters represents the first of the ‘Back 9’ events, and the legendary Sir Nick Faldo will have the privilege of hosting rights once again. There will be plenty of home interest with the likes of former Masters champion Danny Willett and Matt Fitzpatrick teeing it up, and the Brabazon course represents a stiff test. The track which was designed by visionary duo Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas, provides the perfect theatre with precision-cut fairways and undulating greens. Some of the holes have been enhanced to challenge the field, including the sixth.

Contender News

Most golf bookmakers will overlook the key data points ahead of a tournament and just reflect the odds. We have given the lowdown on the three key contenders, explaining what they bring to the party.

By giving this a read, you could enhance your chances of nailing your golf betting strategies.

Niklas Noorgard

Given he’s on the periphery of things in terms of the Race to Dubai rankings, a win this week would do Niklas Norgaard the world of good. Although he’s been largely quiet this term results-wise, the Dane has the potential to light things up.

Of course, he needs to bump up his driving and putting stats, but let’s not forget that he’s the reigning British Masters champion.

There will be some pressure on his shoulders, but he will be eager to put up a strong title defence, and he could do well again at the Belfry.

Rasmus Hojgaard

Despite being just 24, Rasmus Hojgaard has a wise head on his shoulders, and he has made some significant improvements to his game. He’s trending well on the driving accuracy front, but he’s also excelled with his scrambling, which could be crucial this week.

Last year, Hojgaard finished third at the British Masters, and he’s racked up five career DP World Tour titles. The only concern this week is how he’s fared in the final round given some of his mediocre scores, but if he can hold it together, he has a decent chance

Marco Penge

Arguably one of the stars of the season, Marco Penge may have flown under the radar with golf betting sportsbooks, but he hasn’t with us! With a victory under his belt, which came in April, the Englishman is hungry for more, and he would be a popular winner.

Currently fifth in the Race to Dubai rankings, Penge has impressed us, and he’s been in and around the top 20 over the past couple of months. He’s flourished with his iron play, but his putting stats also suggest he’s a man in form.

Penge may have missed the cut at the British Masters last time out, but we expect much better this time.

Suggested Bets

Golf betting odds come in all shapes and guises and are wide-ranging. We are always on the hunt for value, and we’ve handpicked a few intriguing lines worth exploring.

  1. Rasmus Hojgaard to finish as the top Scandinavian golfer: The top nationality markets are often trumpeted by the best betting sites for golf. Rasmus Hojgaard is one of those who could bring the fireworks, and if he’s firing with the flatstick, he could have a productive week. Hojgaard to fulfil this line has some appeal (6/4 with Stake).

  2. Marco Penge to clinch a top 10 finish: Marco Penge has risen to prominence this term, and while he hasn’t got a target on his back, he’s getting noticed more. The Englishman is likely to be in contention this weekend, and a top 10 finish could beckon (8/5 with Betandyou).

  3. Winner to be decided by 2 strokes: Over the last couple of editions, the winner of the tournament has been decided by exactly two strokes. In terms of golf betting tips, we like to spot patterns, and the margin of victory line here seems quite appetising (3/4 with 1xBet).

Tournament Prediction

The British Masters represents a fun stopping point on the DP World Tour, and it gives the players a chance to walk in the footsteps of greatness, given the history of the Belfry. Niklas Noorgard, of course, goes in as the defending champion, but his wayward driving and indifferent results seem a little bit off-putting.

Rasmus Hojgaard, meanwhile, may have performed better with the three-wood at hand, but he’s suffered recently on the final day at events. Marco Penge, however, seems considerably more assured, and given his terrific performances this season, another win could be imminent. He’s been brilliant with his iron play and putter, and he’s our pick to prevail this week.

If you like the look of Penge or any other player in the field, make sure to put your pick to good use and claim one of the best signup sports betting offers before the first tee shot.
