He’s also posted a couple of top-10s, and that came at two of the biggest events on the PGA Tour — Phoenix Open (T6) and The Players Championship (9th).

Although in his last three tournaments, he hasn’t finished higher than T32, he’s got off to quick starts, as shown by the Zurich Classic of New Orleans where he began with a scintillating round of 64. MacIntyre has been solid with his approach play, but he needs to tidy up his putting. If all facets of his game are in full gear, he could be in the mix, so don’t rule him out.

Sam Burns

After a suspect March where Sam Burns missed three cuts in a row, Sam Burns has managed to steady the ship. He tops the ranks for SG: Putting and if he can improve on his accuracy from the tee, he has a good chance.

A five-time winner on the PGA Tour, Burns has had a flurry of top-20 finishes, and that included T19 at the PGA Championship. He can be the ace in the pack, and he’s one to pay close attention to.

Sam Burns, meanwhile, has been on the fringes of things, and judging by the field, Rory McIlroy stands out. Apart from being a two-time Canadian Open champion, McIlroy is swinging much more freely, and he revels in being in the spotlight. While his driving accuracy might be a concern, McIlroy never has any issues with his distance off the tee, and his putting is on the money at the moment. We think the Ulsterman could bag a 30th PGA Tour title at this tournament.
