FM Championship Preview 2025: Odds, Tips, & Predictions

A highly regarded venue that has previously hosted FedEx Cup playoff events, the FM Championship carries the biggest prize pot outside of the women’s majors. This year, it has risen to $4.10 million. 12 months ago, the prize purse stood at $3.8 million, and Haeran Ryu was the inaugural winner, pipping Jin Young Ko in a dramatic playoff. It was a seminal moment for Ryu, who clinched her second LPGA Tour title after eight top-10 finishes in her previous 18 LPGA Tour events. Coming off the back of a runner-up finish at the CPKC Women’s Open, Minjee Lee will be eager to make amends at the FM Championship. Ultimately, Brooke Henderson just had that little bit extra to fend off the Australian, who shot four rounds under 70.

Lee usually makes for box-office viewing, and she has been a model of consistency this term. Her driving accuracy and driving distances are a cause for concern, but if she continues with her excellent approach play, she will be in contention come the weekend.

Nelly Korda

As one of the standout players on the LPGA Tour, Nelly Korda always merits plenty of attention insofar as golf betting odds are concerned. We are slightly worried about her bunker play, but she looked in good shape at the CPKC Women’s Open, finishing T10.

She may not have won this term, but she seems to be doing the right things. Perhaps, she has been trying too hard, although it would be great for her to open her account this season.

The FM Championship has the potential to get bigger each year, and with a phalanx of stars teeing it up this week, there are quite a few fascinating angles.

Nelly Korda, of course, has arguably been guilty of trying too hard to win, and while her approach play has been solid, she has struggled to put herself in the picture on the final day of tournaments.

Jeeno Thitikul, meanwhile, may be the favourite, and was T4 last year at this event, but her driving stats are something a little left to be desired. Instead, we’re more inclined to back three-time Major winner Minjee Lee, who just goes from strength to strength. Her near miss last weekend will sharpen her mind, and she’s our pick to prevail this week.
