Last weekend, Dean Burmester stunned Rahm and Josele Ballester with a terrific clutch putt for birdie in a playoff in Chicago to clinch his second career LIV Tour title.

Designed by renowned golf architect Peter Dye, the man who created Sawgrass and Whistling Straits, Chatham Hills is a masterpiece.

You can see Dye’s fingerprints everywhere, and the 18th hole is a tough par-4, playing at 448 yards. Whoever is best at managing risk will fare well, but as a new course, we haven’t got much data to go by.

Who will take the glory? We have divulged some golf tournament predictions to underline our preview, so make sure to give this a read.

Pre-Indianapolis Individual Betting Odds and Win Probability

To set the tone for our golf tournament preview, we have visited one of the top online sports betting operators to see the outright prices offered for the favourites.

This should give you a clear indicator of how the land lies leading into the Indianapolis Individual.

  • Jon Rahm – 43/10 (5.30) – 18.9%
  • Bryson DeChambeau - 61/10 (7.10) – 14.1%
  • Joaquin Niemann – 81/10 (9.10) – 11%

Key Player Updates

The pre-tournament betting odds don’t necessarily tell the whole picture. They just provide a snapshot of where the smart money lies in terms of potential picks.

We prefer to scratch the surface, and for the Indianapolis Individual, we have scrutinised some key golf stats for betting concerning LIV’s leading players. This has focused on driving and putting performance metrics, so you can see where they are with their games heading into this crunch tournament.

Contender News

Some sites for betting on golf tournaments will carry a few rudimentary stats, but we like to be more incisive in our analysis.

We have lifted the lid on the form guide of the main contenders who could shake things up this weekend. Taking note of this will give you a better chance of executing your golf betting strategies.

Jon Rahm

It hasn’t been for the want of trying for Jon Rahm. Three runner-up finishes this term show he has continually knocked on the door, and he is the man best placed to thwart Joaquin Niemann’s ambitions of clinching the Individual Championship, as he’s second in the standings.

He has been peerless with his approach play, and he has backed himself up well during the season with lots of birdies and eagles.

Chatham Hill seems to be tailor-made for his game, and he will be a factor come the weekend.

Bryson DeChambeau

Bryson DeChambeau tends to veer from the brilliant to mediocre, and last weekend, he fell into the latter category. A three-over-par final round in Chicago undid his hard work in the first couple of rounds, and he had to settle for T13.

Combining brains with brawn is a challenge DeChambeau has often faced, and at the moment, he doesn’t have much to play for. His season has arguably petered off over the last few weeks, but he will be eager to finish on a high.

Joaquin Niemann

Joaquin Niemann, as mentioned, holds the power at the top of his leaderboard. Interestingly, he has slipped into the pattern of winning and then being out of the running the following week.

However, he usually backs himself up quite well, and aside from topping the driving distance stats, he has been reliable with the putter at hand.

The Chilean has a brilliant improvement mindset, and he’s always looking for new ways to gain an edge. We expect him to mount a challenge this weekend, and he could bring the fireworks with his electrifying style.

Suggested Bets

We crave value golf betting odds, and we have delivered a few more eye-catching lines available at recommended golf betting sportsbooks that could be worth tapping up.

  1. Jon Rahm to finish in the top five: Bar a T11 in Dallas, Jon Rahm hasn’t finished outside the top five in any of the other 11 events he has participated in which is a testament to his consistency. As far as golf betting tips go, Rahm to finish in the top five carries plenty of value (37/20 with BetWinner).

  2. Bryson DeChambeau to lead after Round 2: While things have slightly plateaued for Bryson DeChambeau of late, throughout the season, he has made a statement of intent in the second round. The leader after round two is a common market available at golf bookmakers, and we’re backing DeChambeau to steal the lead heading into the final day (7/1 with N1Bet).

  3. Winning Margin to be by 1 stroke: Although Chicago provided a dramatic ending with a playoff, things might be tighter this weekend. The best betting sites for golf carry the winning margin line, and we think it could be decided within the regulation 54 holes, and by a single stroke (5/2 with Betway).

Tournament Prediction

Although the Indianapolis Individual is a new tournament, there is plenty on the line. Those players on the bubble in terms of the standings will need to have a big weekend. However, the scene is set for a fascinating battle in the upper echelons of the table. Bryson DeChambeau has often been far from flattering, and he’s flickered out in the final round.

As much as we would love to see Rahm sign off with a win, he’s just not been able to get the job done, even if the course seems suited to his game. Our pick is Joaquin Niemann. With a flurry of wins posted and a robust iron game to boot, Niemann has the tools to come out on top this week.

If you fancy Niemann or any other player for that matter, swing by the sites with the best signup sports betting offers to keep your bankroll ticking over.
