After an inauspicious start to the season, Rico Hoey has been looking a little more assured of late. Yes, there was a missed cut at the Rocket Classic, but he strung together four solid rounds at the John Deere Classic last week to come home T11.
A pair of 66s suggested he is heading in the right direction, and judging by his performance stats, he has been in good shape with his driving and approach play.
The only real criticism that can be levelled at Hoey is his putting which has been a little off. However, last year, he pushed Hall all the way before falling in a play-off at the ISCO Championship. That might give him the extra motivation to get over the line this time around.
Carson Young
2025 has been a bit of a mixed bag for Carson Young. There have been some promising signs, such as the T5 at the John Deere Classic and top 10 finish at the Puerto Rico Open, but that has also been thrown in with a raft of missed cuts.
Driving is an undeniable strength of Young’s game, and that is underlined by his driving accuracy and total driving efficiency (fifth for that stat).
Young usually attracts some billing, and if he can hit the ground running on Thursday, he could well be in the mix come the weekend.
David Lipsky
He might be a bit of a journeyman, but David Lipsky stopped the rot of five missed cuts with a T3 at the John Deere Classic.
Okay, he might be on the shorter side with his distance off the tee, but he more than makes up for it with a decent approach game, and he is adept at scrambling too.
The American is starting to make ground in the FedEx Cup rankings, and he could well have a productive week if he’s dialled in.

Tournament Prediction
The ISCO Championship might be superseded in terms of status by the Scottish Open, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be treated to some top-quality golf. Of the 144-man player field, David Lipsky seems to be on the road to redemption, but his putting is a weak area which could count against him.
Carson Young, meanwhile, is strong with the driver at hand, but there are some lingering doubts about his SG: Approach to the Green, so instead we’re leaning more towards Rico Hoey.
