From 2010 to 2011, the KLM Open was played in September, however, more recently, it has been pushed forward to June. Intriguingly, this is the final tournament before the US Open, so it will be interesting to see how those who have qualified for the season’s third Major fare this week.
There will be an exciting first as Dutch football icon Ruud Gullit has been appointed tournament director for this edition. There will be a few home hopefuls in the field for fans to follow, including Joost Luiten, who is a two-time KLM Open winner.
The International is a tricky-looking links-style type of course. Accuracy is more important than sheer power, and there are plenty of contours, but the putting surfaces are large.
3,500 Race to Dubai ranking points are up for grabs at the KLM Open, but who will bag the title? We’re on hand to provide a full golf tournament preview and we have supported our prediction with a handful of golf betting odds.

Contender News
Having shared some of the key performance metrics this term, we have run the rule over the three players mentioned in the table to discuss their respective chances of success at the KLM Open.
Although some golf bookmakers will provide some cursory stats, we have gone a bit further. We have looked at their most recent results, including their past record at the KLM Open to suggest how they might get on this week. Reading what we have to say here may influence your golf betting strategies.
Matthew Jordan
Although he’s yet to win on the DP World Tour during his career, Matthew Jordan has been heading in the right direction. There have been a flurry of top-10 finishes this term, including the Qatar Masters, Singapore Classic, and more recently, the Soudal Open.
After an unspectacular start at the Soudal Open, Jordan finished strongly with rounds of 64 and 69, which has seen him move higher up the Race to Dubai rankings. His approach play has been excellent this term, and the KLM Open has a few risk-reward holes.
The KLM Open hasn’t crowned an English winner since Paul Casey in 2014, so perhaps history could be rewritten, and Jordan might be worth watching.
Joost Luiten
The KLM Open will see a few homegrown players tee it up this week, and Joost Luiten has had the bit between his teeth of late.
Indeed, Luiten has had a couple of top-five finishes in the past couple of months, and apart from a poor showing at the Hainan Classic, the Dutchman has been pretty solid. Sitting 24th at the time of writing in the Race to Dubai rankings, Luiten is in good shape, Luiten is a two-time winner of the KLM Open, and he would love to add another title to his trophy cabinet.
He could be in the mix come the weekend, and it will be fascinating to see how get gets on.
Thriston Lawrence
Thriston Lawrence’s appearances on the DP World Tour have been rather sparing this term. That said, the South African came home in T4 at the Soudal Open, which suggests he could recapture the form of old.
A final round of 67 in Belgium capped off a very productive week, and Lawrence, who finished a career-high third in the Race to Dubai rankings in 2024, needs to continue to churn out the results.
Whether he can string together four impeccable rounds of golf in the KLM Open remains to be seen, but he shouldn’t be underestimated.
Suggested Bets
We’ve provided a few more golf betting tips, sourcing odds from a mix of reputable golf betting sportsbooks.
These markets are designed to provide value, so you can get a bit of bang for your buck.
Matthew Jordan to be the leader after Round 2: Matthew Jordan is one of those players who has blossomed in 2025, and he has caught our attention. The Englishman, as mentioned, is searching for a first win on the DP World Tour, and there are no major foibles with his game. Sites for betting on golf tournaments will carry round leader markets, and we’re going with Jordan to head the leaderboard going into the weekend’s play (5/1 with BetWinner).
Joost Luiten to clinch a top-10 finish: As one of the home hopefuls, Joost Luiten will be eager to leave his mark at a tournament that he’s won twice. His recent results show he’s on an upward trajectory. A T16 finish at the Soudal Open is nothing to scoff at, and while he would be a popular winner if he triumphed, a top-10 finish, we think, seems more likely (4/3 with Betandyou).
KLM Open to go to a play-off: The KLM Open is never short on drama or intrigue. Interestingly, the KLM Open holds a DP World Tour record for staging the longest play-off in history, extending to nine holes, and this came in 1989. While we don’t think that record will be broken anytime soon, extra holes may be needed if you fancy there to be a play-off (6/5 with 1xBet).
Tournament Prediction
The KLM Open could provide a few fireworks, and it is one of the best stopping points on the DP World Tour. Thriston Lawrence has started to show signs lately that the wheel is beginning to turn, but his driving accuracy has let him down, and a premium is placed on accuracy from the tee at this event.
Joost Luiten, meanwhile, would be a popular winner, but there is a reason why he hasn’t entered the winner’s circle in over six years. Getting over the finishing line in golf tournaments, as we know, is notoriously difficult.
Although Matthew Jordan hasn’t won on the DP World Tour yet, he has made huge strides, and he seems rather settled with his game. An English winner at the KLM Open is long overdue, and Jordan could break the barren spell, so he’s our pick for this event.
If you’re looking to back him or any other contender, now might be the perfect time to explore the best signup bonus sports betting offers to maximize your potential returns.
