Tournament Preview

This tournament is considered a key stop on the ladies European Tour. As always, the testing nature of the golf course adds to the mystery and intrigue of the action. Known as a tournament which is often adversely affected by the conditions, this will no doubt once again pose a challenge to all of the players.

The field is truly stacked this year, Solheim star, Celine Boutier, and the evergreen Linn Grant headline the field – with the former tipped by many to come away with top honours. However, given the consistency of Grant and with the likes of Charley Hull in the field, it could be wide open.

Pre-Tournament Betting Odds and Win Probability

A closely contested field is set to duke it out for the title of champion this weekend, but the early betting boards suggest that Boutier is still the one to beat.

  1. Celine Boutier: 9/2 (5.5) – 18.2%

  2. Charley Hull: 6/1 (7.0) – 14.3%

  3. Linn Grant: 13/2 (7.5) – 13.3%

  4. Leona Maguire: 8/1 (9.0) – 11.1%

Key Player Updates

Boutier will always be impressive to watch. She has an all-around game and can put pressure on you from anywhere on the course. Hull is likely to use her big drives to her advantage – especially given what a big role the conditions often play here. The only consideration worth noting is her inconsistency.

Contender News

Leona Maguire has attracted a lot of attention from the media in recent days. She has struggled to find form and mentally she seems to be in a negative lull coming into this tournament. She is often seen as a big player, but if she isn’t able to turn her form around, she might once again fail to make the cut.

A dark horse to consider here would have to be Ana Pelaez Trivino. She is often at her best in Spanish conditions, and her statistics coming into this game are among the best on the tour.

This is of course all in addition to the three main challengers we have previously mentioned. It is safe to say then that with so many players coming into this tournament in such good form and confidence, golf betting strategies this weekend will be put to the test.

Suggested Bets

Here are our best bets ahead of the weekend’s action.

Celine Boutier to Win Outright

A player who thrives in these tough conditions and the game to put some real pressure on the other contenders. Back Boutier to come away with the championship here. 9/2 (6.0) with 1xBet

Ana Pelaez Trivino Top 10 Finish

Home crowd support shouldn’t be underestimated, coupled with the fact that she often performs well in Spain – back this as a value option. 2/1 (3.0) with Pinnacle.

First Round Leader – Charley Hull

Known as an aggressive player who will look to attack from the onset, back Hull to get off to a flyer and find herself in the lead after the first day closes. 6/1 (7.0) N1Bet.

Tournament Prediction

Celine Boutier is playing with confidence and consistency. She is an established name on the European circuit and looks to be taking no prisoners coming into this tournament. Assuming her putter cooperates, we back the French lady to claim a big win come Sunday.
