Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club provides the setting once again, and it will feature the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings. It was a bit of a topsy-turvy conclusion to the BMW Championship last weekend, but Scottie Scheffler found a way to get over the line after Robert MacIntyre let a four-shot lead slip after 54 holes. Tommy Fleetwood

Tommy Fleetwood is always a joy to watch in full flow, and he’s made some posit
ive strides forward over the past few weeks. Two relatively strong performances at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and BMW Championship should give him some confidence.

Okay, it might seem like he is the PGA Tour’s perennial bridesmaid, but his level of consistency should not be negated. He’s finished well, averaging 68 in the final round of his past three events, and he’s driven better than his rivals.

Whether he can get over the line remains to be seen, but you wouldn’t want to write him off.

Robert MacIntyre

Although he might not have come into our thinking last week, Robert MacIntyre has been making all the right noises. The Scot will have rued blowing a four-shot lead, but with Scheffler breathing down your neck, it’s hard not to feel sorry for him.

MacIntyre may have been the runner-up, but he’s trending in the right direction, and if his putter holds up well like it generally did last weekend, he could be in the mix.
