Japanese star Yuka Saso, who prevailed by three strokes last year from Hinako Shibuno, is aiming to become the first golfer to go back-to-back in this tournament since Karrie Webb achieved this feat in 2000 and 2001.

It feels as if Allisen Corpuz has been on the LPGA scene for ages, but she only joined three years ago. Another former US Women’s Open champion, Corpuz has had a relatively quiet season by her standards, and her best showing came at the Ford Championship in March, where she finished third.

Perhaps more worryingly, she has missed the cuts in her past two events. Generally speaking, she has been impressive with the driver at hand, and she’s been dialled in with her iron play. If her putter is red-hot too, she could catch fire this weekend and take some stopping.

Charley Hull

Charley Hull is long overdue a win, and while she hasn’t featured on the LPGA Tour as much as she would have liked to so far this term, her results are heading in the right direction.

Currently ranked 15th in the Rolex rankings, Hull has only missed one cut this term, and she was a runner-up at the US Women’s Open in 2023.

The English golfer has flourished with her approaches to the green, and she would be a popular winner if she triumphs in Erin Halls. She has often been the bridesmaid at the Majors, but it would represent a seminal moment in her career if she could crack the Major code.

Allisen Corpuz, meanwhile, has arguably flown under the radar this season, but when she’s dialled in, she could take some beating.
