As the regular season reaches its final games, the Washington Wizards look likely to end the season as the bottom seed in the East. While this puts them out of contention for the playoffs and the play-in, the organization will receive a high first-round draft pick in the new season. The Wizards have lost four games in a row, too, but could secure an upset win over the Heat.
20-year-old Bilal Coulibaly is in only his second season in the NBA but has been utilised as a starter within the roster. Coulibaly is averaging 12.3 points, 5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, an impressive stat line considering his lack of experience at the highest level. There is no doubt that he will improve as time goes on, but he will miss the rest of the season due to a right hamstring injury.
Shooting guard Jordan Poole is the roster’s leading scorer, averaging 20.5 points per game. He is averaging the highest he has in his whole career, but only just. His previous record was 20.4 points, but he is posting career-bests in assists and rebounds, too. Poole’s potential can be even better if the franchise can stay injury-free over the year.

As mentioned earlier, the Miami Heat’s recent form is terrible, winning only one of their last ten games in the league. The troubling form has seen them fall to the tenth seed in the East, but they are likely to cling on to the final play-in spot. Their form is the worst in their Conference, but the organization will hope to turn that form around considering it’s almost the end of the regular season.
Point guard Tyler Herro leads the organization in points per game with 23.5. This is a career-high for the 25-year-old, who has found a way to raise his game by an extra gear while averaging his career stats in assists and rebounds. His averages in those departments are 5.6 and 5.3, respectively, indicating that he is their most valuable player. Herro’s scoring stats place him 20th in the NBA.
Andrew Wiggins is evidently enjoying his basketball in his new life on South Beach after being traded away by the Golden State Warriors. Wiggins is averaging 21 points per game, his highest in over six seasons. He even posted a season-high 42 points against the Charlotte Hornets, further bolstering his immense work rate to help his team end their winless drought. Wiggins has featured in 13 games so far, but he has made an instant impression with the Miami faithful.
