Jannik Sinner is the hunted as reigning champion, and he will have an extra spring in his step after his Wimbledon triumph last month. Naturally, Sinner will inspire a flurry of tennis bets in the run-up to the tournament, given his current dominance.

But what should we expect this time? We have provided some incisive tennis betting insights for this event, and we have underlined our predictions with odds sourced from top sportsbooks.

Pre-Cincinnati Open Odds and Win Probability

The 125th edition of the Cincinnati Open was very well attended, and the 2025 tournament is likely to pique the interest of ardent tennis fans too.

To set the tone, we’ve sourced some pre-tournament tennis betting odds from one of the finest betting sites to establish their take on things before the first round.

  1. Jannik Sinner – 9/2 (5.50) – 18.2%

  2. Carlos Alcaraz – 24/5 (5.80) – 17.2%

Head-to-Head Record (Jannik Sinner vs Carlos Alcaraz)

We’re excited about the Cincinnati Open, and as part of our research for divulging tennis betting tips, we’ve assessed the tale of the tape between two of the likely protagonists.

Ultimately, it depends on how the draw pans out, but we expect Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz to reach the latter stages, and finals between these two are becoming a more regular occurrence on the ATP Tour.

Sinner, memorably, exacted revenge over Alcaraz with a four-set win in the Wimbledon final last month. To a certain extent, it removed a mental block for Sinner who before that, had struggled to find a way past Alcaraz.

As far as Alcaraz is concerned, it will be fascinating to see how he responds to the SW19 setback as he continues his quest to be one of the greatest players of all time.

Players Form

Leafing through the best betting sites for tennis might have some cursory information about the top players, specifically their ranking or recent wins.

However, as part of our comprehensive preview, we have divulged some information on three players that could have a deep run at the Cincinnati Open.

Jannik Sinner

Arguably his strongest surface, Jannik Sinner, at the time of writing, is seeking a fifth Masters 1000 title on hard. The Italian is largely unflappable, and while the start of the season was disrupted by a three-month ban, his dominance at the top of the ATP rankings hasn’t come under threat.

His trademark shot is his bullet forehand, but he has added some variation to his game, and he is quickly becoming a brilliant all-court player.

As the reigning Cincinnati Open champion, Sinner is looking in good shape, and he won’t want to relinquish his title without a fight.

Carlos Alcaraz

Previously, Carlos Alcaraz’s serve was one of the weaker points of his game, but Alcaraz has been ominous, churning out 108 aces this season on hard.

At the time of writing, he had won 74% of his first serves on the surface, and the Spaniard boasts an impressive 48-6 win/loss record in 2025.

Naturally, it remains to be seen what impact the Wimbledon final defeat to Sinner will have, but Alcaraz’s mental resilience is impressive, and you imagine he will be desperate to make amends. He could be back to his best this week.

Frances Tiafoe

It feels like Frances Tiafoe is going through a bit of a renaissance. Although the 2024 final against Sinner wasn’t quite the blockbuster we hoped for, Tiafoe could well be in the frame once again.

He has been clocking up some good results, and although he was shaded out in the quarter-finals in Washington by Ben Shelton, Tiafoe is trying to break back into the world’s top 10, and he’s on the precipice of doing so. He could well have a productive tournament, and he often brings the fireworks to court.

Previous Cincinnati Open Winners

It’s time to revisit the past Cincinnati Open champions, and we’ve tracked the last few years. Looking at this list might sharpen your tennis betting strategies as to who could be worth backing.

  1. 2024 – Jannik Sinner

  2. 2023 – Novak Djokovic

  3. 2022 – Borna Coric

  4. 2021 – Alexander Zverev

  5. 2020 – Novak Djokovic

  6. 2019 – Daniil Medvedev

Suggested Bets

Away from the standard outrights, we’ve plucked out a few specials that could be worth latching onto ahead of the Cincinnati Open.

  1. Jannik Sinner to win the Cincinnati Open: Jannik Sinner is in great fettle, and he’s arguably much fresher than the rest of the field, given he’s played fewer matches. Nevertheless, he’s very sharp, and he is extremely difficult to break him down. He delivers in clutch moments, and he could be hard to shake off (5/2 with Sportsbet.io).

  2. Frances Tiafoe to reach at least the quarter-final: Frances Tiafoe is starting to rediscover his form of yesteryear, and he has a big game. His record at the Cincinnati Open is nothing to be scoffed at, and a deep run is very plausible. A special of Tiafoe to reach at least the quarter-final is worth getting on board with (3/1 with Stake).

  3. Winner of the Cincinnati Open to be decided in three sets: Ultimately, this will depend on who reaches the final, but we have seen some epic matches over the years that have gone the distance. If it is Sinner vs Alcaraz in the final, this is certainly feasible (2/1 with 1xBet).

Cincinnati Open: Jannik Sinner to Win

The Cincinnati Open will look very different to previous incarnations, and there is a level of razzmatazz attached to this, given its Masters 1000 status.

Often with a high-calibre field, picking a winner is tricky. That said, Carlos Alcaraz will be keen to shake off the disappointment of Wimbledon, and get back into the winner’s circle as soon as possible.

However, Jannik Sinner has the bit between his teeth, and he has an aura of invincibility on hard. Based on his triumph last year, Sinner will have extra motivation to retain the title and stretch his lead at the summit of the ATP rankings.
